About Show Up

Past a certain age, there's no easy, no-stakes way for grown adults to actually go somewhere with someone new. We built Show Up to fix exactly that.

The problem

Dating apps want romance. Networking wants your job. Group chats fizzle out. So you stay in - again. Meanwhile a whole city is out there: parks, galleries, riversides, roadside suya. The hard part was never the places. It was the nudge to leave the house with another person.

What we made

Show Up matches you with one person nearby who shares your vibe - or a friend you invite - then helps you both pick a spot, agree on a time, and actually turn up. You find each other with a private colour-and-emoji signal you both see in the app. In the meantime, you can chat, send encrypted voice notes, build and share Collections of your favourite spots, and use Discover to find where to go next. No photos, no profiles to scroll, no swipe deck.

• Meetups, not queues. Up to one matched meetup and two invited plans at once - never an endless scroll of half-conversations.
• Privacy by design. No public profiles, no social feed, no followers. You meet by words, not faces.
• Real life, locally. Built around the free and cheap places people already love.
• Earned, not bought. Badges, the leaderboard, and your show-up rate reflect what you actually do in the city - not what you pay for.
