Community Guidelines
Last updated: 2 June 2026
Show Up only works if people are kind, safe and reliable. These guidelines are short on purpose. Break them and you may lose access.
1. Show up
This is the whole point. If you accept and lock in an outing, turn up on time. Plans change — if you truly can't make it, cancel as early as you can rather than ghosting. Repeatedly cancelling locked outings or no-showing earns strikes and pauses your matching.
2. Be respectful
Treat the person you meet like a real human being. No harassment, insults, hate speech, or unwanted advances. Show Up is not a dating app — go in expecting good company, not romance, unless both of you clearly want otherwise.
3. Keep it safe
- Meet in public places, especially the first time.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Respect boundaries and consent — "no" means no.
- Don't pressure anyone to go somewhere private, drink, or do anything they're not comfortable with.
- If something feels wrong, leave. In an emergency, contact local authorities.
4. Be honest
Use your real identity and accurate details. Don't impersonate anyone, create fake accounts, or use Show Up on someone else's behalf.
5. No selling, no spam
Don't use Show Up to advertise, sell, recruit, beg, run a scam, or push a cause. Outings are for getting out of the house and meeting people — nothing else.
6. Protect privacy
What happens on an outing stays between you. Don't share someone's contact details, photos, or private information without their consent.
7. Report & block
If someone breaks these rules, makes you uncomfortable, or is unsafe, use the in-app block and report tools, or email [email protected]. Reports are taken seriously and handled confidentially.
Consequences. Depending on what happened, we may warn you, apply strikes, pause your matching, or permanently remove you from Show Up. Serious safety issues can lead to an immediate ban and, where appropriate, a report to the authorities.
